With their current routine "Balkan and Western", the band Hank and the Shakers from Kassel provide for entertainment as well as cultivated hysteria all over the country.
Czárdás, Hungarian folksongs, Russian waltz, Finnish polka, Brahms and Dvorák duel on open stage with Cowboy songs and Spaghetti Western music, sentimental Wild West ballads and snappy Saloon stomps.
Apart from all this, the Shakers also cultivate their hobbies: swing, frivolous popular songs, movie soundtracks, Hessian folksongs, drinking songs and their own compositions.
On stage the Shakers play with full electrical amplification or completely acoustical, depending on the nature of their performance.
